Welcome to Carer Kafe Conference 2027

Join carers, support staff, legal representatives and sector leaders from across Victoria for a timely conference focused on the future of out of home care. Together, we will explore the impact of Victoria's recent reforms, the role of carer wellbeing in supporting stable placements, and practical ways to improve outcomes for children and families. The conference will provide opportunities for learning, discussion and connection across the child protection and out of home care sector.

About Carer Kafe
Carer Kafe is a free learning and development program that supports kinship, permanent and accredited foster carers across Victoria. Since 2017, they have provided accessible opportunities for carers to build knowledge, develop practical skills and connect with others who share the experience of caring for children and young people. The program brings carers together to learn, share experiences and strengthen their confidence in supporting future generations.

Carer Kafe is delivered through a partnership between the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, Kinship Carers Victoria, and the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA), working together to support and strengthen Victoria's home-based care community.

The Carer Kafe Conference 2027 builds on this commitment by bringing together carers, support staff, legal representatives and sector stakeholders to explore current issues, discuss recent reforms and strengthen connections across Victoria's out of home care sector. Through learning, collaboration and shared experiences, the conference aims to support better outcomes for children, young people, families and carers.

Walking together. Learning together. Sharing together.
